Renowned painters refined this endeavor over the centuries.
Since capturing an object on a metal plate came to bear in the mid-nineteenth century, and the ensuing discoveries that led to modern photography became commonplace, the nude figure has persevered as a challenge to all artists, photographers included.
Perhaps that is because the human body has more hidden corridors than almost any other object: the corners of an elbow, the abstract lines of the collarbone, the shadows hiding just beneath a muscle, or the soft curves of a breast. These all compete for the eye of the artist. All human bodies are different and no two artists look at them with the same pair of eyes.

Welcome to this gallery of new work. Most of these images were done while attneding a workshop led by Lucien Clergue. The workshop was hel in Bessége, France. It was a 14-hour round trip from where I was staying in Soréze, France. There was a lot of water, something of which I seldom experience in New Mexico. It was a tremendous workshop.
Then there are several images from a workshop Pat Berrett and I conducted on The Outdoor Nude. These image depicted here were taken and staged by myself in the course of looking for shooting situations to share with the students.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my galleries!
